Safety First

A safe workplace is a fundamental right for our employees and contractors.

As soon as Covid-19 hit, we swiftly established tight entry controls to all sites, increased cleaning and disinfection, social distancing and increased communications and signage. Depending on local circumstances, employees who could work remotely did so and only business-critical travel was allowed. A global testing and monitoring service was established.

The only acceptable goal for our business is Zero Accidents. We believe this goal is achievable and continue to strengthen our safety culture.

As we do so, we focus on:

  • Identifying hazards to prevent accident and injury
  • learning from near-misses
  • measuring how timely and effective our response is
  • analysing the root causes of incidents
  • sharing lessons learned across our business

We also include contractors working on our sites, as well as employees contracted to work at customer sites. As part of a safety integration project with customers, we are also developing shared training and reporting practices.

Our safety management system follows Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems standard ISO 45001.
