Contributions were used to purchase ventilators and support first responders and frontline staff during Coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis.

The rapid spread of Coronavirus in the United States has led companies to redirect their resources to help their local communities combat the public health crisis.

In April 2020, RHI Magnesita, of York, Pennsylvania has donated over $30,000 to healthcare institutions in York to purchase essential items to help those affected by COVID-19.

Supporting the frontlines

WellSpan York Hospital received a donation to purchase ventilators and air-purifying respirators. These items will be used to save critically ill patients, and to protect healthcare workers when working with patients who have highly contagious respiratory illnesses, such as COVID-19. The donation to UPMC Pinnacle was used to support first responders and frontline staff needs, as well as communication, equipment, and other critical needs.

RHI Magnesita, in all of its locations globally, holds the health and wellness of its employees and the local communities that support them, in the highest regard.  “During this time of pandemic uncertainty, it is crucial that we recognize and support the local organizations who risk their lives to serve, treat, and protect us tirelessly on the front lines,” says John Resh, Plant Manager RH Magnesita York.

On behalf of WellSpan Health, thank you to RHI Magnesita for the generous gift to our COVID-19 response. We continue to be so humbled by the outpouring of support from our communities. Your donation toward ventilators and respirators will support our WellSpan teams and patients so we can continue to provide the very best care during this challenging time.
