RHI Magnesita has reached a key milestone in mainland China with the first-ever introduction of refractories into the primary aluminium market. Currently undergoing production trials in the electrolytic cells at one of China’s leading aluminium producers, the materials are designed to enhance efficiency and energy performance, reinforcing RHI Magnesita’s role in advancing technology across the global aluminium supply chain.

In another strategic development, RHI Magnesita China will supply low-thermal-conductivity bricks to the world’s largest lithium-ion battery manufacturer. Composite bricks will be installed in the third lithium oxide rotary kiln—the first application of this type for RHI Magnesita worldwide—marking a significant step forward in delivering high-performance refractory solutions to the rapidly growing lithium battery sector.
